Shinchonji Open Bible Seminar

Shinchonji makes several proposal attempts for an open debate…However, no response from pastors.

“Stop insulting us behind our backs and agree to the open debate like one who believes in God.”

For years now, Shinchonji has been making several proposal attempts for an open debate with the pastors of the Reform churches. Unfortunately, Shinchonji would get only lukewarm responses from them.

Last February 16, Shinchonji appealed to the Christian world with a statement saying, “Stop insulting us behind our backs and agree to the open debate like one who believes in God.”

The pastors of the Reform churches go on and on criticizing how Shinchonji is a cult, but once they’re presented with a proposal for an open debate, they back out. By this, Shinchonji doesn’t understand the reason behind their actions.

According to the request form Shinchonji presented to the pastors of Gwacheon’s Church Council for an open debate, it states, “We propose an open debate to determine who really is a cult, which will be judged according to the Bible. Concerning the open debate surrounding God’s word, the winner of the debate will be known as orthodox and the loser will be known as a cult.

Last year, the National Pastoral Organization of Shinchonji Investigation, who snuck into Shinchonji only to find out that it was the “City of Truth", was also presented a proposal for an open debate several times. Shinchonji proposed each organization to prepare 20 questions, be prepared to answer the opponent’s questions, and choose one representative from each organization to discuss about Revelation for 30 minutes.

And they also clearly stated that if the pastors did not agree to the debate, it will be considered a withdrawal. Nevertheless, the Christian Council of Korea has not yet agreed to the proposal.
However, in order to clear this accusation, we will continue making requests for an open debate.

Chairman Man Hee Lee’s European visit garnered much attention from the local press.

Leipzig TV (Leipzig Fernsehm) of Germany reported through an interview with Chariman Man Hee Lee that, “Man Hee Lee is not an ordinary Christian, he proclaims to have been given the duty of testifying about the fulfillment of the events of the words of Revelation.” And also, “His name, ‘Man Hee’ means ‘light’ and ‘reveal,’ matching him very well,” they reported. Through this broadcasting the Chairman replied, “I would like to say the following to all the Christian’s out there. God’s words in the book of Revelation have been opened and fulfilled. Come and listen, and see for yourself.” And, “If this is true, then this means that the kingdom of heaven is already here,” he said this important message to the whole world.

North Berlin weekly newspaper, “Shinchonji does not match the title of “cult.”

A weekly newspaper in North Berlin spotlighted the content of the interview with Chairman Lee on the 17th, the Asension Day. It reported, “The number of congregation members in large churches of the West is decreasing, but contrary to these events, one religious organization introduced itself by hosting a seminar last Saturday evening at the Ernst Reuter,” and introduced Shinchonji by saying, “The word, ‘cult’ is characterized as a neutral party in addition to being used to describe a ‘new religious movement.’ When viewed in such context, this place called Shinchonji does not match the title of ‘cult.’”

In addition, “Mr. Man Hee Lee is the founder of about 300 mission centers around the world. Since its establishment, 85,000 students have graduated and the cost of tuition is absolutely free. The standard of its education is the Bible and to explain in detail, the teachings of the unraveling of the book of Revelation are taught here,” as the Chairman, Shinchonji, and Shinchonji Mission Center is introduced.

”Watch the seminar again” opens on YouTube, due to its popularity

Admirations from the Internet users of the world who watched the seminar view the Internet broadcast followed. Germany’s local internet broadcasting, called Jeet TV (jeet.tv), broadcasted a live coverage and also provided a ‘replay’ service to the 24-hour global video service website, Youtube (YouTube.com). Some of the comments written in the Internet website of those who did not even open a page in their Bible said, “How can one not be surprised,” and, “Who is this person?” In addition, the founder of this broadcasting network sent in a video message, “We have received 80,000 thank you letters. It is as if we have received a lot of love and a huge hug from the viewers”.

WAVE news (US) with the pastor Man Hee Lee

Protester ejected as South Korean religious leader delivers sermon

Protester is ejected as South Korea's Man Hee Lee testifies about the Revelation

ANAHEIM — In a bright, colorful and stage-managed event that almost went off without a hitch, more than 1,500 people flocked to the Crystal Cathedral here on Saturday to hear a sermon by the controversial South Korean religious leader — whose followers refer to him as Instructor Man Hee Lee.

Mr.Lee is the founder of the Tabernacle of the Testimony, which, according to its lightmeetslight website, is a ministry of 53 churches that boasts 140,000 members worldwide.

In a two-hour plus oration — given without notes and aided by a chalk board — Lee’s testimony included that Jesus has appeared before him and the Book of Revelation has already been fulfilled.

The sermon was in Korean, but attendees were provided with headsets that translated the lesson into several languages, including English and Spanish.

However, about an hour into the address, a woman ran up to the front of the church and started yelling — but she was quickly intercepted and ushered out of the building.

Lee, who asked that she be allowed to speak in the lobby, went on to acknowledge the opposition against his teachings, noting that “so many people curse me and want me dead.”

“I’m here to testify to the words of Jesus,” he said. “I am not here to bring down any other religion. God wants to save, not kill mankind.”

During the sermon, Lee references each chapter of the Book of Revelation, explaining what he feels the symbols mean.

According to the website, born in 1931 in the rural town of Gyeongbuk Cheongdo, as the 7th of 12 sons, it is said that his grandfather saw a radiant light shining upon Lee’s mother, and named him Man Hee, meaning light.

A former member of the Korean Special Forces, it’s further claimed his transformation came in the midst of prayer when a huge star came down and a heavenly figure appeared, introduced himself as Jesus and anointed him.

“According to his command, I went to a church named the Tabernacle Temple in Cheongdo where I saw and heard the events right before my eyes that were fulfilling Revelation. What I am testifying to is the fulfillment of Revelation.”
